Eurasian Customs Union imposes special duty on porcelain import until 2016

Baku, Azerbaijan, Dec.15

By Emin Aliyev - Trend:

Cutlery and kitchen porcelain imported to the territory of the Eurasian Customs Union is subject to the special duty until September 28, 2016, according to the decision of the board of the Eurasian Economic Committee, published by the Ministry of Economy and Industry of Azerbaijan on Dec.14.

The special duty rate will vary, according to the decision. It will amount to around $1,479 until Sep.28, 2014, from Sep.29, 2014 to Sep.28, 2015 - $1035.3, and from Sep.29, 2015 to Sep.28, 2016 - $591.6 per ton of the product.

This measure doesn't apply to products from developing countries, which enjoy tariff preferences of the Customs Union, with the exception of China, according to the decision.

The Eurasian Customs Union is a form of trade and economic integration of the Republic of Belarus, Kazakhstan and the Russian Federation which ensures a single customs territory.

Customs duties and restrictions of economic nature are not used in the mutual trade of goods with the exception of special protective, antidumping and countervailing measures within this territory. The member countries of the customs union apply a unified customs tariff and other common measures to regulate trade in goods with third countries.
