Turkmen state budget-2013 revenue exceeds 130 percent

As at the end of 2013, the execution of revenues of the Turkmen state budget amounted to 130.9 percent, the Turkmen Finance Ministry said on Tuesday.

'The revenues of the Turkmen state budget as of 2013 amounted to 130.9 percent, while expenses were 98.7 percent', a report stated. 'Around 77.3 percent of the budget funds were transferred towards the development of the country's social areas'.

Wages, pensions, state benefits and student scholarships were paid in the country on time in 2013. The growth of the average monthly salary in Turkmenistan for the period amounted to 111 percent compared to 2012, according to the report.

The Majlis (Turkmen parliament) approved the state budget for 2013, in which revenues were set at 86.335.8 billion manat and expenses at 89.735.8 billion manat. In recent years, the official rate of the manat to one dollar remains at 2.85 Turkmen manat.

The revenue part in Turkmenistan is formed by such areas as oil and gas, chemical industry, power engineering and construction.

The budget also envisages the ongoing development of the agricultural industry, transport, communication, textile and food sectors.

It is expected that revenues will continue growing through further development and support of activity of enterprises with non-state ownership.

The revenues were set at the level of 94.129.1 billion manat and expenses at 97.829.1 billion manat in the state budget for 2014.
