The Azerbaijani State Committee for Standardization, Metrology and Patent has approved a new national standard 'Minimum requirements for hotels and hotel- type facilities', according to a message from the committee.

The new national AZS 755-2014 standard was adopted to improve the quality of services rendered for tourists, provision of security and competence of the hotels and hotel-type facilities personnel, according to the message.

This standard included types of accommodation, rules for organising the system for assessment of hotels and other accommodation facilities conformity with minimum requirements, as well as conducting audits at these facilities.

Aside from that, the committee has approved two new state standards: AZS 756-2014 "Lifejackets. Technical specifications" and AZS CODEX STAN 192-2014 "Food additives based on the 'CODEX STAN 192-1995 Codex General Standard for Additives' international standard".
