Azerbaijani insurance company to develop voluntary insurance in 2014

Azerbaijani insurance company Atasıgorta is to develop compulsory and voluntary insurance in real estate, insurance of those traveling abroad and in freight, Chairman of the company Museib Aliyev told Trend.

The compulsory insurance provides 25 percent of the company's fees, according to Aliyev.

"Nearly a half the fees fell to the insurance of cars (CASCO) in 2013. About nine percent fell to property insurance, health insurance was seven percent and accident insurance four percent," Aliyev said.

The company collected premiums totalling 12.6 million manat in 2013 which is 16 percent more than in 2012 and the payments exceeded three million manat, an increase of 10 percent, according to Aliyev.

"Our goal is to keep the volume on compulsory insurance at this level and in parallel to develop the voluntary insurance and to offer new products," the insurance company chairman.

Some 11.3 percent of Azerbaijan's CASCO market, 2.3 percent of the real estate insurance market, 1.4 percent of the health insurance market, 4.6 percent of the accident insurance market and nearly three percent of the compulsory insurance market fell to the company's share, according to Aliyev. The company aims to maintain these positions.

The Atasigorta insurance company has operated in the insurance market since 2004. It renders services on 22 voluntary and four compulsory types of insurance.
