Iran improves its crude production in January over December

Iran has improved its direct oil production in January of 2014, compared to December 2013, OPEC's monthly report for Feb. 2014 said.

The report said that based on direct communication, Iran produced 3,250 tb/d in January 2014, which is slightly more than the country produced in January (3,220 tb/d).

Iran's November 2013 crude oil production stood at 3,330 tb/d, according to the report.

This is while based on secondary sources, OPEC report said Iran produced 2,733 tb/d of crude oil in January 2014 - less than the country produced in December 2013 (2,736 tb/d).

In total, based on direct communication, OPEC countries including Iraq) produced 30,921 tb/d of crude oil in January 2014, which is a slight increase over the Dec. 2013 production (30,659 tb/d).

As for crude production based on secondary sources, OPEC countries (including Iraq) produced 29,711 tb/d in January 2014.

Iran's crude oil price (Iran Heavy) stood at $104.89 per barrel in January 2014, compared to $108.96 per barrel in Dec. 2013, the report said.
