Romanian Galati and Georgian Poti ports will establish a ferry connection to transport containers

Tbilisi, Georgia, March 6

By Nana Kirtzkhalia - Trend:

Romanian Galati and Georgian Poti ports will establish a ferry connection to transport containers, Georgian Railway LLC told Trend on March 6.

Georgian Railway said Trans Caucasus Terminal signed an agreement with the administration and operators of the Galati river port in Romania.

This agreement will make it possible to start transport of the containers, through Georgia from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and China, to Europe.

Thus the container transit will be provided in both directions.

"Galati and Poti will be linked by a ferry connection for the delivery of containers from Georgia to Romania," Georgian Railway LLC said.

On March 1, the Trans Caucasus Terminal signed an agreement in Astana with a subsidiary company of Kazakh railway - KTZ Express, which will ensure the delivery of goods from the Aktau port to Kazakhstan and China.
