Kazakhstan becomes coordinator of “Modern Silk Road”

Kazakhstan became a coordinator of the program for creation of the single tourist product "Modern Silk Road" within the Turkic Council.

It is planned that joint tourist routes along the Greta Silk Road will be approved, the press service of the Committee of Tourism Industry of the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies of Kazakhstan said. These routes are aimed at development of ethnocultural and eco-tourism.

The report also said the sides agreed to attract national tourist associations from Turkic Council member states to work on creation of the single tourist product.

The report also noted that the sides agreed to publish "Tourist Guide of Modern Silk Road of Turkic Council" which is expected to contain practical information about companies arranging special tours and general information about the countries and their tourist opportunities

The chairman of Committee of Tourism Industry of the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies of Kazakhstan Marat Igaliyev, said Kazakhstan and Turkey will implement programs on exchange of experience and specialists through joint and regular seminars, professional trainings, exhibitions in the sphere of tourism, etc.

"In particular, a special seminar for representatives of the tourist sector of Kazakhstan will be held in Belek (Turkey) from May 27 until June 3, 2014. An extended training involving Turkish experts on staff development of hotels and inns will be held in Kazakhstan during the summer," the statement said.
