The work on the draft law on the securities has already been completed, and it will be submitted to the Azerbaijani Parliament shortly, the chairman of the Baku Stock Exchange Fariz Azizov said.

The State Securities Committee, the BSE and the National Depository Center, together with brokerage firms, banks and other partners carry out their activities on holding events in the framework of the State Program on the "Development of the securities market of the Azerbaijan Republic for 2011-2020," Azizov told Trend.

"One of the most important aspects that appear in the state program is the Law "On securities market". We are working hard on the project of this document, and now it is on the agreement stage," the BSE chairman said.

"Literally the consultations on various aspects of the draft law are held every week with various structures, including the Central Bank, brokerage companies, and the banking community. We expect the draft law to be submitted to the Milli Mejlis (Parliament) for the hearing in the near future," he said.

The improvement of the regulatory and legal framework for the securities market is one of the six major areas of the State Program on the "Development of the securities market of the Azerbaijan Republic for 2011-2020, adopted in May 2011.
