Dutch company Philips to open regional service centre in Georgia

Dutch company Philips will open a regional service centre in Georgia.

Philips CEO, Harry Hendriks had a meeting with Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili on April 22 to agree upon the final details of opening a service centre, Georgian government's press service told Trend.

Philips management decided to open a regional office in the South Caucasus after a meeting with the Georgian PM at the World Economic Forum in Davos in January 2014.

Philips service centre in Georgia will distribute its products not only in the South Caucasus, but also in the Central Asia.

The activities of the Philips Tbilisi office will focus on energy efficient lighting systems, innovative medicine and home appliances.

"Georgia offers us a stable political climate and a very good investment environment. In a certain sense the country is a regional hub and we look forward to opening our regional office in Georgia," the company's CEO said.

The Dutch multinational company Philips was founded in 1891 and is leading today in such areas as the medical technologies, innovative lighting systems and home appliances.
