Tashkent Pipe Plant JV LLC has commissioned a metal-rolling complex with total cost of $30 million.

The calculated power of the complex which focus on the production of various, hot rolled steel bars makes up 130 000 tonnes of steel bars and rods of various sizes in diameter from six to 45 millimeters. Uzbekistan previously imported these products.

The length of installed rolling mill is nearly one kilometer, and on various technical and economic parameters and design decisions it has no analogues in Central Asia and in the CIS countries. The products will meet international quality standards, the company representative told Trend.

The project was financed at the expenses of the resources of the founders of the enterprise.

As part of the expansion of capacities, the company also launched production of 89-219 mm longitudinal welded pipes and 270-700 mm profile pipes with a total capacity of 55,000 tonnes a year, as well as steel pipes coated with polyolefin with the capacity of 8000 tonnes a year in April.

In June, the plant will start production of oil and gas spiral welded pipes of the standard API-Sp.5L 1220-1620 mm diameter with the capacity of 16,000 tonnes a year.

Tashkent Pipe Plant was commissioned in 1999 and at present it is the largest company on production of pipes in Uzbekistan. The founders of the joint venture were Almetyevsk Pipe Plant (Russia), Capital Industrial Supply (USA) and division and association Uzmontazhspetsstroy.

The company produces steel thin-walled water- gas pipes (designed capacity of 26,000 tonnes), steel pipes for main oil and gas pipelines with diameter of 159-377 mm (6000 tonnes), as well as profiled sheets and wavy slate of galvanized steel and pipe bends.
