Kazakh business will be quite competitive as part of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEC) being created together with Russia and Belarus, member of the presidium of the Kazakh National Chamber of Entrepreneurs Talgat Doskenov said at a press conference in Astana on May 16.

"Kazakh business is quite competitive by creating the single market of the EAEC three countries," he said. "Today it is observed not only in Russia and Belarus, but also in other neighboring countries."

"Some local entrepreneurs who are on the Forbes list own bakeries, seaports not only in Russia but also in other countries," he said.

"There are entrepreneurs who have bought shares of major Russian and Belarusian companies," Doskenov added.

The president of Russia, Kazakhstan, and Belarus will sign the EAEC treaty in Astana on May 29, which should come into force in January 2015.

The trade turnover among the EAEC three member states has increased by 88 percent to reach $ 24 billion since 2009. The exports of processed goods from Kazakhstan doubled.
