Azerbaijan invested $47 million in Georgia's economy in Q1, 2014.
Georgia's National Statistics Office (GeoStat) told Trend on June 9 that this figure is the second largest one for the mentioned period.
GeoStat said the Netherlands ($73 million) ranks first in terms of investments in Georgia's economy, while the third place was occupied by the UK ($35 million).
The statistics office also said that in Q1, 2014 the foreign direct investments in Georgia stood at $260 million or 15 percent more than the figures for Q1, 2013.
The largest investments in Georgia's economy went to financial sector ($89 million, or 34 percent of total investments), while the refining industry ranked second ($46 million), and transport and communication - third ($44 million).
