The government of Kyrgyzstan has announced a tender for getting a license to develop the country's three large fields.
Azerbaijani entrepreneurs have also been invited to participate in this tender, a message posted on the website of Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Foundation (AZPROMO) said.
The State Agency for Geology and Mineral Resources under the government of Kyrgyzstan intends to issue a license to develop the following fields in 2014:
- The group of gold ore deposits, Terek-Terekkan-Perevalnoe, with a total precious metal reserves of 32.8 tonnes in the Jalalabad region;
- Bel-Alma coal field in the Batken region;
- Arym II marble field, with total marble reserves of 1.8 million cubic meters.
The trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan stood at $6.38 million in January-May 2014, according to the Azerbaijani State Customs Committee. By comparison, the foreign trade turnover between the two countries made $14.53 million as of 2013.
