Tajikistan will issue licenses for geology exploration only through tender procedures as of now, Avesta.Tj reported on July 8.
This new rule was announced by the head of Tajik Geology Administration (Tajikglavgeology) Dzhumazoda Murod Hall.
"The State Commission on Deposits and Subsoil will be the only body issuing licenses for the fields development, according to the new rules. Moreover the tender procedure has changed. The bidder company pays some money and receives full information about the field. Then it may apply for the tender for development of this deposit," he said.
The commission determines the exact number of issued licenses, their expiry dates, operation life of licensed fields and the number of companies developing the field, Dzhumazoda said.
He also noted that Tajikistan has issued and revoked no licenses since the beginning of 2014.
"We received about 80 documents from various companies concerning several fields and negotiate with them. But now everything will be solved on a tender basis," head of Tajikglavgeology said.
