By Daniyar Mukhtarov - Trend:

A weather station was created on the Kazakh busiest highway Astana-Shchuchinsk. It will warn drivers about expected weather conditions beforehand, the Kazakh Ministry of Transport and Communications said on July 25.

"This subsystem is an automated meteorological system intended for the collection, processing and information management about the weather conditions on the roads and the condition of the roadway," according to a statement.

An operator of the system transfers the necessary information on the LED display, which has four display areas, namely: time, temperature, current weather conditions and maximum speed to inform and warn drivers about the situation at the section.

The weather station was created to ensure traffic safety on motorways and intercity routes as part of the "Action plan for the creation and development of trunk intelligent transport systems in Kazakhstan until 2020," the report said.

"Weather Stations" subsystem is part of the Intelligent Transport System. It is a single set of automated systems designed specifically for solving transport urban and regional problems.
