Azerbaijan increases construction material exports to Georgia by almost 10 percent

The import volumes of Azerbaijani made construction materials to Georgia grew by 9.7 percent for a year, according to the foreign trade report of "GeoStat" (National Statistical Service of Georgia) in January-June 2014.

The import volumes of Azerbaijani made construction materials to Georgia grew by 9.7 percent for a year, according to the foreign trade report of "GeoStat" (National Statistical Service of Georgia) in January-June 2014.

Some 62,390 tons of construction gypsum and other anhydrites in the amount of $10.66 million were imported from Azerbaijan to Georgia in January-June 2014, which is 8,900 tons more than the same period in 2013, the report said. For comparison, some 53,490 tons of construction materials in the amount of $9.72 million was imported to Georgia in January-June 2013.

The specific weight of construction materials in the total volume of Azerbaijan's exports to Georgia totaled 3.6 percent during the reported period.

Georgia imported products from Azerbaijan worth $294.1 million in the first half of the year. The volume of imports from Azerbaijan to Georgia increased by 7.7 percent for a year, according to the report. For comparison, Georgia imported Azerbaijani goods worth $273.2 million in January-June last year.
