Georgian commercial banks see decrease in their assets

Around 21 commercial banks operated in Georgia's banking sector as of July 1, 2014.

The total assets of the commercial banks dropped by 0.6 billion lari or 3.1 percent and stood at 18.3 billion lari.

The own funds of the country's banking sector stood at 3.2 billion lari, which accounts for 17.5 percent of the total assets.

The share of the foreign capital in the authorized capital of Georgian banks amounted to 78.5 percent.

The country's banking sector completed the last month with profit in the amount of 54.9 million lari.

Five largest banks of Georgia account for 76.1 percent of the total assets of the baking sector.

The official exchange rate on July 25 is 1.75 lari/1$.
