Kazakhstan completes road reconstruction on border with Russia

The reconstruction work of the M-32 highway "Russian Border (to Samara) - Shymkent" (South-Kazakhstan region) is coming to an end, according to the press-service of the Kazakh Ministry of Transport and Communications.

The reconstruction work of the M-32 highway "Russian Border (to Samara) - Shymkent" (South-Kazakhstan region) is coming to an end, according to the press-service of the Kazakh Ministry of Transport and Communications.

"At present, two road sections with total length of 81 km, which pass through the Kyzyl-Asker settlement, Turkestan city, the ancient city Icahn have already been commissioned," the report said.

The report also noted that it is planned to commission the remaining five sections of the highway by the end of 2014, which pass through the ancient city of Icahn-Tortkol-Akshyganak, Badam-Temirlan -Altyntobe settlement, Chubar Su-2 settlement, and Shymkent bypass of the Shymkent city.

Work on the site of the M-32 highway "Border Russia (to Samara) - Shymkent" has been conducted in South Kazakhstan region since 2011 within the framework of reconstruction of the "Western Europe-Western China" transport corridor.

After the completion of reconstruction the part of the M-32 highway from 2,057 to 2,260-km will be widened to four lanes and will belong to the first technical category.
