Kazakh city of Petropavlovsk located in North Kazakhstan region will launch a combine harvester plant in 2015, Novosti-Kazakhstan reported on July 30.

It was announced by the head of North Kazakhstan region Erik Sultanov at meeting of the city council.

The new plant will be created on the basis of the existing factory producing small engines.

"All the contracts have been signed, the work will be started in August and we will produce the first harvesters in early April, 2015," Erik Sultanov said.

The plant's capacity will reach 300-400 harvesters per year.

"We also consider the possibility of production of about 20 more items of other agricultural and municipal machinery at the plant," Sultanov said.

The head of the region also noted that the region plans to triple investments within the state program on forced industrial-innovative development.

"We are considering 101 projects worth 300 billion tenge (183.53 tenge = $1). If most of them are implemented, we triple the investments into our region within the program on forced industrial-innovative development in the next five years," Sultanov said.

Some of these projects will be presented in 2014, he added.

"So, several subsoil projects have been initiated, including gold mining in Esil district which will be commissioned in November 2014, the project on zirconium production in Taiynshinsky area which will reach its design capacity in the current year. In 2016, a project on tin mining will be commissioned," Sultanov said.

Moreover, a lot of facilities in the sphere of agricultural products processing will be launched.
