In 1 HY 2014 the volume of construction work in Azerbaijan amounted to 4,535 million AZN, which is a 6.9 percent increase compared to the same period of last year, says the report of the State Statistics Committee of Azerbaijan.
Out of the total construction work, 64 percent fell on the new construction, reconstruction and expansion, 17.5 percent - on overhaul, 5.6 percent - on current repair, 12.9 percent - on other construction work, the report says.
In 1HY of 2014, 96.7 thousand people were involved in the construction sector, nominal wages in the construction sector amounted to 622.3 AZN, exceeding by 1.5 percent the same period of last year. The average salary in public sector amounted to 501.6 AZN (with an increase by 2.2 percent in six months), in private sector - 676.1 AZN (with growth of 0.7 percent).
In 1 HY 2014, the level of wages in the construction of buildings decreased by 2.1 percent which is an average of 556 AZN, in specialized construction the level rose by 19.6 percent - up to 894.9 AZN, in the field of civil construction works wages saw a decrease of 12.2 percent and amounted to 498.8 AZN.
