On July 13, in Ankara, Prime Ministers of the transit countries signed an intergovernmental agreement on the Nabucco project, designed to transport gas from the Caspian region and the Middle East to the EU. Construction of the pipeline will begin in 2011 and the first gas deliveries via it - in 2014. The main gas suppliers for the Nabucco project are considered Azerbaijan and Iraq. In the future, it is expected to connect the Turkmen gas to the project.
According to Bayer, Hungary has made every possible effort to facilitate the implementation of Nabucco. Bayer said Hungary was invited to establish International Nabucco Board with the aim of political support.
"We want to unite all the countries involved or willing to provide support for the Nabucco project," said Bayer.
