Azerbaijan, Baku, Nov. 14 / Trend , A.Badalova/
Azerbaijan is interested in the Russian gas sale market, Azerbaijani Industry and Energy Minister Natiq Aliyev believes.
"The Russian market is interesting for Azerbaijan, as well. Russia is a small market for us. If it is ready to buy gas, we cannot say "no"," the minister said at a news conference on Nov. 14.
SOCAR and Gazprom signed a medium-term contract (with possibility of extension) to sell the Azerbaijani gas to Russia in Baku on Oct. 14. The contract covers 2010-2014. Under the contract, Azerbaijan will annually supply gas to Russia in the volume of over 500 million cubic meters.
The minister said any export direction is interesting for Azerbaijan.
"If there is any choice, we should not miss it. But we must choose that which meets our national interests, and which is efficient in terms of economy and profitable in terms of price," the minister said.
