BP and Caucasus University signed a memorandum of understanding allowing the university to cover the chemical, oil and gas and mechanical engineering sectors. The memorandum was signed by head of BP Azerbaijan Rashid Javanshir and Caucasus University Rector Ahmed Sanich. Cooperation between the sides involves opening three new faculties.
The project will be realized in three stages. A Chemical Engineering Faculty will open as part of the first stage. Depending on its success, the remaining stages of the project will be realized. In subsequent phases, oil and gas and mechanical engineering faculties will also open.
As Javanshir said at the signing ceremony, the project will allow Azerbaijani students to receive a scientific education meeting international standards in Azerbaijan.
According to the memorandum of understanding, BP will allocate funds to acquire the laboratory equipment and materials necessary to open the new faculties. The company will provide funds to obtain international accreditation. In addition, BP will offers graduates practical programs and employment programs.
