No problems with gas supply in Baku

Azerbaijan, Baku, Feb. 9 / Trend E. Ismayilov /

Daily gas consumption in Baku hits about 15 million cubic meters compared to 13.8 million cubic meters in late January, a source in Azerigaz PU said today.

"At present, gas consumption in the region hits 15 million cubic meters but in January this index exceeded 13 million," a source said.

He said that there were no problems with gas supply due to problems with electricity. "It did not affect gas supply," a source said.

There are some problems with electric power supply of Baku's all regions for several hours. The problems with electric power supply occurred due to break of one of high-voltage transmission facilities, Azerenergy JSC (production and distribution of electric power in Azerbaijan) press-service head said.

A source earlier said that about 364.4 million cubic meters of gas were given to Baku's gas system in January 2010 or 47 million cubic meters more than in December 2009.

About 2.45 billion cubic meters of gas were given to Baku's gas system in 2009. This figure is similar with the index of 2008.
