Today Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev took part in the opening of the substation "Laza" in Gabala, AzerTaj state news agency reported.
JSC Azerenergy President Etibar Pirverdiyev informed the President that 110-kV substation Laza was built within operations on modernization and reconstruction of distribution and transmission network grid of the country.
The construction of a substation with area of 1,5 hectares was launched in December 2008.
The project of a substation was funded from internal funds of Azerenergy.
Extensive work on landscaping and gardening was conducted.
A road of about one kilometer was asphalted from the road Laza-Gabala. The substation is of great importance for the region. It will provide Gabala, a tourist complex "Caucasus", the village of Laza and Durdja, as well as a number of other objects with electricity. It will provide the opportunity for safe and stable operation of the transmission and distribution grids.
Two 110-kilovolt line of more than six miles each were laid to power the substation from the substation "Gabala".
The substation "Laza" has 12 lines. Two transformers with capacity of 16 MVA each ave been installed. Equipment, installed at the substation, was produced by Swiss company ABB.
President Ilham Aliyev visited a switching node. He put the substation into operation in the control station.
The President congratulated the staff of the substation and wished them success.
