The Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) said Monday that its basket price went above 83 dollars for the second time in a month at the end of last week, DPA reported.
The groups' crude oil price rose 0.65 dollars per barrel (159 litres) on Friday and settled at 83.01 dollars.
The Vienna-based cartel of 12 countries pumps over a third of the world's crude oil.
