The oil price of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) dropped to 78.52 dollars towards the end of the week, the lowest level since late March, the group said Friday.
OPEC's basket price shed 2.60 dollars per barrel (159 litres) on Thursday, following the downward trend of global financial markets, DPA reported.
The 12 members of the Vienna-based cartel pump over a third of the world's crude oil supply.
