OPEC oil price back above 70 dollar

The oil price of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) climbed back above the 70-dollar mark towards the end of the week, the group said Friday, DPA report.

The cartel's basket price settled at 70.48 dollars per barrel Thursday, 2.27 dollars higher than on the previous day. One barrel equals 159 litres.

OPEC crude oil had meandered below 70 dollars in the past five trading days.

The group's 12 members produce over a third of global oil supplies.
