The volumes of oil cargo transported by Middle East Petrol via Azerbaijani oil terminals will exceed 8 million tons as of this year, Abdulbari Gozel, the head of Azersun Holding (including Middle East Petrol), told Trend today.
He said that the volume of oil cargo transportation this year is similar to the figures for 2009. In 2008, the figure was about 7.7 million tons.
"As a result, the index will exceed 8 million tons. It is similar with the same period of last year," Gozel said.
The head of Azersun Holding said that significant growth has been observed this year in transit cargo transportation. The transit cargo includes goods from Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan.
The Azersun Holding was established in 1992. Its sphere of activity includes tea processing and packing, vegetable oil, trade and distribution, construction, banking, insurance, paper products, meat and canned vegetables, and goods transport and storage.
