Alik Aidarbayev was elected as the managing director of exploration and production at KazMunaiGas today.
Aidarbayev was born in 1963. He graduated from the Kazakh Lenin Polytechnic Institute (1980-1985 and the Russian Academy of National Economy (2009-2010). He is a candidate of technical sciences, honorary professor of the Kazakh Satpayev National Technical University, and a correspondent-member of the National Academy of Engineering of Kazakhstan.
Aidarbayev has been working in the oil and gas industry since 1972. He passed all the stages of professional development in oil and gas production. He worked as a senior geologist, a technologist and a master of oil and gas production at the Mangyshlakneft's Zhetybayneft association. Over the years, he held senior positions at the Yuzhkazneftegaz PU.
KazMunaiGas is the national hydrocarbon exploration, production, refining and transportation operator of Kazakhstan, which represents the state's interests in the oil and gas sector. Some 100 percent of the shares belong to the Samruk-Kazyna National Welfare Fund.
