Iran - Pakistan agree to increase gas export by 30 mcm

Iran's Oil Ministry caretaker and Pakistan Energy Minister agreed the increase of Iran's gas export to Pakistan by 30 million cubic meters per day, Fars News Agency reported quoting Managing Director of the National Iranian Oil Company Javad Ouji as saying.

Iran's Oil Ministry caretaker and Pakistan Energy Minister agreed the increase of Iran's gas export to Pakistan by 30 million cubic meters per day, Fars News Agency reported quoting Managing Director of the National Iranian Oil Company Javad Ouji as saying.

Iran will export 21.5 million cubic meters gas per day to Pakistan by 2014 , however Sunday meeting between Iran and Pakistani oil and energy officials indicated increase of export by 30 million cubic meters.

"Iran launched the seventh general pipeline and it will reach the border line by one year, meanwhile a joint committee would prepare a contract to increase gas export," he said.
The National Iranian Oil Company transferred 120 mcm gas per day to plants and refineries during past three months and the gas reserves in refineries have the capacity to store one billion liters liquid natural gas(LNG).

The fuel for plant consists of 70 to 80 percent natural gas and 20 percent LNG.

The National Iranian Oil Company injected 12 mcm sweet gas into oil fields per day during three first months of current solar year(started on March 20,2011) while gas injection into industries increased by 12 percent to amount of 81 mcm per day.

The rate of gas transfer into CNG stands also increased to 17 mcm per day.

Iran has OPEC's second-highest oil output, and ranks second in the world in terms of natural gas reserves after Russia.
