French Development Agency to finance energy projects in Azerbaijan

A large team of the French Development Agency led by Pascal Gringrau, Agency’s Envoy to Azerbaijan, will arrive in Azerbaijan in 2012, Mr. Gringrau told Azerbaijani Deputy Industry and Energy Minister Natig Abbasov at a meeting in Baku on Friday.

A large team of the French Development Agency led by Pascal Gringrau, Agency's Envoy to Azerbaijan, will arrive in Azerbaijan in 2012, Mr. Gringrau told Azerbaijani Deputy Industry and Energy Minister Natig Abbasov at a meeting in Baku on Friday.

The Agency and the Government of Azerbaijan concluded agreement of cooperation at the sidelines of an earlier visit of the French President to Azerbaijan.

The Agency has its offices in 60 countries worldwide and implements projects in 90 countries, Industry and Energy Ministry's Press Secretary Azer Mensimli told Trend on Friday.
Gringrau visits Baku to attend the 10th ministerial conference of the Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC) member states.
"On his upcoming enlarged visit, Gringrau plans to examine the financing of specific projects in Azerbaijan," Mensimli noted.

Particularly, it is planned to examine energy projects and how to bring them in compliance with the European standards as well as priority projects of alternative and renewable energy sources Azerbaijan plans to implement.
