Kazakh Oil and Gas Company KazMunaiGas (KMG) appointed new General Director to its 100-percent subsidiary in Romania - Rompetrol Group, KMG reported on Tuesday.

"According to the decision of the company's only shareholder, Zhanat Tusupbekov was appointed to post of the Rompetrol Group's General Director," the company said.

Earlier Tusupbekov served as the General Director of KazMunaiGas Refining and Marketing Company.

The former Rompetrol Group's Director General Saduokhas Meraliyev will continue to work in the company as a member of the Board of Directors.

Moreover, some personal changes were made in the Rompetrol Group. Timur Asimov was appointed as Vice President for Trading and Azamat Zhangulov was appointed as Deputy General Director for Finance

The Rompetrol Group is a large holding company. The group is active primarily in refining and marketing downstream, with additional operations in exploration, production and other services for the oil industry. It owns two oil refineries - Petromidia and Vega - and some 630 gas stations in Europe (Romania, France, Spain, Moldova, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Albania, and Georgia). The Rompetrol Group is a 100 percent subsidiary of KMG.

KazMunaiGas is the Kazakh national operator for hydrocarbon exploration, production, processing and transportation. The state owns 100-percent shares of the company.
