In January-May Azerbaijan Thermal Power Plant (TPP) generated about 3.5 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity, Azerenergy (electricity generation and distribution in Azerbaijan) said on Friday.

Azerbaijan TPP is the most powerful energy company in the South Caucasus region.
In January-May, cascade of Shamkir hydropower plant generated 551.5 million kilowatt hours of electricity, the report said.

Some 380.7 million kilowatt hours of electricity of this amount accounted for Shamkir HPP, while the remaining 170.8 million kilowatt hours - for Yenikend HPP.
