Kazakhstan bans export of some petroleum products

Azerbaijan, Baku, Aug. 16 / Trend E. Kosolapova/

The Kazakh government imposed a ban on export of some petroleum products until late 2012, Novosti-Kazakhstan reported with reference to the official press.

The decree came into force from July 1.

According to the decree, export of light distillates, kerosene, gas oil and other petroleum products, excluding special gasoline and heating oil is prohibited.
The ban was imposed to avoid a critical shortage and growing prices in the domestic oil market.

The Kazakh Economic Development and Trade Ministry should inform the Eurasian Economic Commission about the ban, as well as propose to apply the same measures in other member-states of the Customs Union.
