Uzbekistan, Tashkent, July 24 / Trend, D. Azizov/

The "Uzbekneftegas" National Holding Company (NHC) completed construction of dielectric cable systems and the "South Urtabulak-Mubarek Gas Processing Plant" at "Samantepe" and "South Urtabulak" gas processing fields, according to a joint report by the Uzbekistan's Ministry of Economy and the State Statistics Committee on results of the social and economic development of the republic in the first six months of 2013.

According to the NHC, the construction of two gas condensate fields i- "Samantepe" and "South Urtabulak" in Kashkadarya region (the South of Uzbekistan) was implemented. The 71 kilometer long "South Urtabulak- Mubarek Gas Processing Plant" gas pipeline was constructed, which gives opportunity to carry out the transport of around 5.5 billion cubic meters of gas per year for further processing in the Gas Processing Plant, a booster compressor station with the capacity of 3 billion cubic meters of gas per year was constructed within the $310 million worth project.

Work on the project was launched in 2008 within the program on intensification of natural gas production in long-developed fields. Its implementation will pave the way for increasing the term for developing fields to 24 years with total gas production of 43 billion cubic meters.

The financing of the project was carried out at the expense of "Uzbekneftegas" NHC's resources.

"Uzbekneftegas" NHC, the monopoly operator of Uzbekistan's oil and gas complex, was established in 1998 and is the association of six shareholding companies.

Uzbekistan is third among CIS countries for natural gas production and is among the 10 largest gas producing countries in the world. Over 60 billion cubic meters of natural gas is produced in the country per year, a part of which is exported.
