Kazakhstan's Oil and Gas Ministry expects the concept for expanding the Karachaganak field to be developed by the end of the year, Kazakh Oil and Gas Minister Uzakbay Karabalin said at a press conference at the Central Communication Service on Wednesday.
"We believe that the vision and concept of further expansion will be formed by the year end," the minister said.
According to him, the concept should be affordable both for investors and the republic.
"We now become more and more convinced that in order to get maximum liquid hydrocarbons from this field it is necessary to ensure the full injection of liquid gas," Karabalin noted.
According to the minister, Karachaganak is currently one of the top projects.
"Today investments that were spent by the investor on this project have already been returned. Remember that from now on, a profit-sharing formula starts to roll out towards Kazakhstan," he added.
