Azerbaijan and Turkey are the economically developed countries of the region, deputy of the Turkish ruling party, co-chairman of the NGO Forum of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation Organization (BSEC) Ismail Safi told Trend today.
According to him, there are so many economic projects being carried out by Azerbaijan and Turkey, which are important not only for Baku and Ankara, but also for the entire region.
"TANAP is one such project," he said.
Safi said that Azerbaijan and Turkey were developed when other countries failed to cope with the economic crisis.
TANAP project envisages transporting gas from the Shah Deniz field to Europe through Turkey. The pipeline's initial capacity is expected to reach 16 billion cubic meters per year. About six billion cubic meters will be delivered to Turkey and the rest will be delivered to Europe.
