The Azerbaijani Ministry of Emergency Situations has developed a draft National Plan of operational measures to combat oil spills, head of the Ministry's Main Department for the Infrastructure Development, Tariel Huseynov said on Tuesday, speaking at the seminar under the theme 'Reducing emissions to the atmosphere, prevention of oil spills, cleaning technologies'.
"The document has been developed and discussed several times and now it is being presented to the Cabinet of Ministers," he said.
Three different seminars on combating oil spills, development of offshore technologies and technologies for drilling oil wells are being held in Azerbaijani capital of Baku from October 29 to 31, with the organization of the Norwegian Embassy in Azerbaijan, Ministry of Emergency Situations, State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR), Caspian Drilling and Statoil.
Over 20 Norwegian companies will hold presentations on various sectors of the oil and gas industry during the event.
