Minister: Turkey does not intend to reduce purchases of Iranian oil

Turkey does not intend to buy less than 105,000 barrels of Iranian oil a day, Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Taner Yildiz said on Saturday, Anadolu agency reported.

According to him, earlier, the Turkish petrochemical company "TUPRAS" imported Iranian oil to the amount of 130-140 barrels per day.

Turkey and Iran intend to renew an agreement on oil supplies in connection with the expiration of its term in August 2013.

It was previously reported that in 2014 Turkey will purchase about five million tons of oil (100,000 barrels per day) in Iran as in 2013.

The demand for energy resources in Turkey has doubled for the past 10 years and it will double again for the next 10 years.
