Baku, Azerbaijan, Jan. 15
By Emil Ismayilov - Trend:

The Baku International Sea Trade Port transhipped over 1.41 million tons of oil cargo in 2013 which is one percent more than in the same period of 2012, a source in Baku port told Trend today.

A slight increase in the transhipment of oil cargo by the port has been recently achieved. This is related to the increased flow from Central Asia, according to the interlocutor.

The previous decline in transhipment of oil cargo from Central Asia has been associated with a redirection to the oil terminal at Sangachal and other terminals since last year.

"As of the year, one can observe a slight increase in oil and oil product transportation," the source said.

In 2012, the port transhipped 1.4 million tons of oil cargo compared to 1.74 million tons in 2011. In 2010, the port transhipped 1.99 million tons of oil and oil products which is 21 percent less than in 2009.
