Carbon Holdings' Tahrir Petrochemicals Project is a huge investment for Egypt, creating thousands of job opportunities, a very important factor in bringing prosperity to the country. Pete Skelly, Chief Projects Officer for the company will give a fascinating insight into this strategically important project with his presentation "A Contrarian approach to Petrochemicals Integration: A Feedstock Machine?" at the forthcoming ME-TECH 2014 Conference.

The leading oil & gas conference & consulting company Euro Petroleum Consultants has announced the final programme for ME-TECH 2014 - their annual Middle East Technology Forum, which will take place for the fourth time during February in the luxury surroundings of the Madinat Jumeirah in Dubai. The conference has proved to be the essential meeting place for the Middle East Downstream Industry and an excellent platform to keep up-to-date with the latest technologies and key projects in this important region.

The conference will have major presentations from SATORP, ORPIC and Takreer, as well as technology-related presentations from the world's leading technology companies. Technology is seen as crucial for the Middle East Downstream Sector as it becomes the leading global player. This means addressing challenges such as the need to meet clean fuels standards and stringent quality environmental regulations as CO2 emission regulations whilst producing products of the very highest quality.

Given the nature of global and regional crude supply, the role of technology companies is crucial in finding ways to improve efficiency and process heavier, sourer crudes. Technology will help plant operators to improve margins, get ahead of the competition and expand their potential in this rapidly-changing market environment. ME-TECH will have specific focus on this issue, which is top of the agenda for most refiners.

ME-TECH 2014 will focus on development trends, technology updates and optimization strategies in the Refining and Petrochemicals sectors. In addition to the mega-project and technology-related presentations the event will also look at key global market factors and their impact on the industrial development in the Gulf region, presented by Nexant, IHS and Euro Petroleum Consultants.
