Novorossiysk port reduces oil transshipment by almost 20 percent in first quarter

The Russian Novorossiysk International Trade Sea Port transshipped around 19.5 million tons of oil in Jan.-March 2014 compared to 24.02 million tons in the same period of 2013, a message posted on the port's official website said on April 21.

The port transshipped about 7.18 million tons of oil products during the reporting period compared to 6.83 million tons in Jan.-March 2013, according to the port's website.

The port transshipped totally around 33.62 million tons of various cargo in Jan.-March compared to 36.97 million tons in the same period of 2013.

The Novorossiysk port transshipped about 91.74 million tons of oil in 2013, compared to 110.83 million tons in 2012. The port transshipped 24.2 million tons of oil products in 2013 compared to 19.4 million tons in 2012. Totally, the port transshipped about 141 million tons of various cargo in 2013, compared to about 159 million tons in 2012.

The State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) transports its own oil through this port.
