Oil and gas production grows in Kazakhstan in 2013

Oil production increased by 3.5 percent up to 1.785 million barrels per day in Kazakhstan in 2013, according to the annual BP Statistical Review of World Energy.

Oil production increased by 3.5 percent up to 1.785 million barrels per day in Kazakhstan in 2013, according to the annual BP Statistical Review of World Energy.

Kazakhstan's share in world gas production made up two percent last year.

In accordance with the BP estimates, oil consumption in the country increased by 5.9 percent up to 287,000 barrels per day in 2013.

The proved oil reserves in Kazakhstan amounted to 30 billion barrels at the end of 2013, , which is 1.8 percent of the world's proven oil reserves, according to the BP estimates.
The gas production increased by 0.8 percent up to 18.5 billion cubic meters in Kazakhstan in 2013, the BP report said.

Gas consumption in the country increased by 9.6 percent up to 11.4 billion cubic meters last year.

Proven gas reserves in Kazakhstan made up 1.5 trillion cubic meters at the end of 2013 which is 0.8 percent of the world's proven gas reserves, according to the BP estimates.
