By Fatih Karimov - Trend: Iran's annual oil products production capacity has exceeded 100 billion liters.

The country's oil refining capacity is projected to rise to 3 million barrels a day from its current 1.87 million barrels, Iran's Mehr news agency reported on June 24.

Iran boosted its oil refining capacity by 110,000 barrels per day in 2013, BP said in its Statistical Review of World Energy 2014.

The report said that Iran is the fourth largest holder of oil reserves and put the country's oil production at 3.5 million bpd, Iran's Tasnim news agency reported on June 17.

Iran increases its oil refining capacity to deal with the international sanctions which were imposed on the country's oil sector, the report added.

The country's oil refining capacity reached 1.97 million bpd in 2013, a 4.1 percent rise compared to 2012, according to the report.

BP ranked Iran 11th in the world in terms of oil refining capacity.
