Investments in Azerbaijan’s oil sector increase by over 30 percent in H1

Around 2.96 billion AZN was invested in Azerbaijan's oil sector in the first half of 2014, which is 31.4 percent more than in the same period of 2013, the country's State Statistical Committee said in its report.

Over 4.82 billion AZN was invested in the country's oil sector in 2013, which is 24.2 percent more than in 2012.

The total volume of the investments in Azerbaijan's industry made 3.58 billion AZN in Jan.-June, which is 6.9 percent more than in the same period of 2013, according to the Statistical Committee.

Some 2.95 billion AZN of these funds was invested in the mining industry during the reporting period, which is 30.1 percent more than in Jan.-June 2013.

The total volume of investments in Azerbaijan's industry stood at 7.08 billion AZN in 2013, which is 16.4 percent more than in the same period of 2012.

Nearly 4.7 billion AZN of these funds was invested in the mining industry, which is 20.6 percent more than in 2012.

The investments in production, distribution and supply of electricity, gas and steam amounted to 140.9 million AZN in Jan.-June 2014, which is 16.2 percent more than in the same period of 2013.

The investments in production, distribution and supply of electricity, gas and steam stood at 390.5 million AZN in 2013, which is 31.5 percent less than in 2012.

The official exchange rate on July 15 is 0.7844 AZN/USD.
