Azerbaijani State Oil Company (SOCAR) commissioned a new well at the Garadagh onshore field, according to a message form the company.
One of two underground gas storage facilities of Azerbaijan operates on the basis of Garadagh.
Azerbaijan has two underground gas storage facilities - Garadagh and Kalmaz. Both of them are included into SOCAR's balance sheet.
SOCAR said that 100,000 cubic meters of gas is daily pumped into the storage as a result of operation of the new well.
During the gas extraction season, the residual gas in underground storage totalled about 1.38 billion cubic meters (Garadagh - 746.43 million cubic meters, and Kalmaz - about 630.6 million cubic meters).
Currently, the gas injection into the country's underground storage facilities is continuing.
Azerbaijan's underground storage facilities' capabilities allow storing over 3.5 billion cubic meters of gas in them.
