National Iranian Drilling Company (NIDC) drilled 126,746 meters of oil and gas wells in the first four months of the current Iranian calendar year, which began on March 21.
Mehran Makvandi, the deputy head of NIDC, said 113,357 meters of wells have been drilled at onshore fields and 13,389 meters of wells have been drilled at offshore fields, the Shana news agency reported on July 26.
Currently, 74 drilling rigs are operating at both onshore and offshore oil and gas fields, he noted.
Makvandi also said the NIDC is currently responsible for drilling rigs run by the National Iranian South Oil Company, Petroleum Engineering and Development Company, Iranian Offshore Oil Company and Iranian Central Oil Fields Company.
