Telasi electricity distribution company of Tbilisi supplied over 1.1 billion kilowatt hours of electricity in the first half of 2014, which is seven percent more than in the same period of 2013, a report on the company's operation for January-June 2014 said on July 28.
By comparison, more than 1.028 billion kilowatt hours of electricity were consumed in the first half of 2013. The country's economic growth and the increase in the number of consumers have led to the growth of electricity consumption.
The volume of net supply of electricity to consumers has increased by 8 percent, or by 79.47 million kilowatt hours compared to the same period of 2013 and exceeded 1.047 billion kilowatt hours in January -June 2014. The reduction of electricity losses led to the increase of this figure.
The number of subscribers of the Telasi company has increased by 3.3 percent in the first six months of 2014, compared to the same period of 2013 and stood at 532,500 (484,100 - individuals and 48,500 - legal entities).
The total length of the company's power transmission lines was 4,443 kilometers in the first six months of 2014, which is 4.8 percent more than in the same period of 2013 (4,239 kilometers).
The extension of power lines is a result of the development of networks and joining of new subscribers, as well as the work on the reconstruction and modernization of networks.
Telasi JSC is one of the largest networking companies of Georgia. It is engaged in distribution and sale of electricity in Tbilisi. The number of the company's subscribers has hit 500,000.
