Azerbaijan sees decrease in major chemical products

In 1 HY 2014, Azerbaijan produced 48.3 thousand tonnes of polyethylene, which is 3.8 percent less than in 1 HY 2013, says the report of the State Statistics Committee in January-July 2014.

In January-July Azerbaijan produced 27.3 thousand tonnes of propylene, which is a 47.6 percent increase compared to the same period in 2013, says the report.

In 2013, the republic produced 76 thousand tonnes of polyethylene, which is a 13.9 percent increase compared to 2012.

In January-July 2014 there was a decrease in the production of basic chemical products in Azerbaijan, the report states.

In January-July the country produced 9.53 tonnes of solid polyethylene pipes, tubes and hoses, which is 39.5 percent less than the same period of 2013.

During the period the republic also produced 164.5 tonnes of porous polyurethane plates and strips, which is a 56.7 percent decrease compared to January-July of last year.
